Perfect lives built on lies.
Breathless is a six-part ITV drama starting at 9pm this Thursday (October 10).
Set in 1961, it is stylish, compelling and one of the best new drama series you will see this year.
The cast – led by Jack Davenport – doing full justice to top class writing, directing and photography.
Not forgetting the production team behind some memorable costumes, sets, locations and all round attention to period detail and feel.
Or the Anne Dudley soundtrack and a collection of inspired episode music choices.
Drawing you into a pre-swinging sixties’ world where everything may not be as it first seems.
I was asked to write the interviews for ITV’s press pack / production notes.

The special, which takes us into the New Year of 1920, has yet to be scheduled although there is speculation it will broadcast on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
Dan Stevens as Matthew Crawley
THE world of Downton Abbey has expanded for its second series, set against the backdrop of The Great War.
There are more characters, storylines and locations than last year.
Including those 1916 scenes at The Somme.
With plenty of shocks and surprises to come.
The series two cast.
“YOU’LL find there’s never a dull moment in this house.”
Just one of many classic new lines from Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham (Dame Maggie Smith) in the second series of Downton Abbey.
The press were invited to Downton on Friday for the launch of the eight-part 2011 series, which will be followed by a Christmas special.
Or rather Highclere Castle in Berkshire, the real life location for the “upstairs” scenes in ITV1’s Yorkshire-set global hit.
A rally fan?
“THE dream is over now…”
Spooks series nine, episode seven.
Where we finally get some answers about Lucas North / John Bateman and Vaughn Edwards.
And much more.
Driving Lucas (Richard Armitage) crazy
“YOU have a name, a life, that were never meant to be yours.
“You’ve got no friends, no family, no past. You’re not a real person.”
Spooks series nine, episode six finds Lucas / John caught on a hook.
Reeled in by Vaughn to the point of risking everything for Maya.
And capable of shocking behaviour.
Peter Firth as Harry Pearce
FILMING of the 2010 series of Spooks has been going on for some time now.
But fans have been waiting for an official production release.
Well, here it is.
Although it raises more questions than it answers.
With what looks like quite a twist in the tale ahead.
