BBC Christmas 2008

YES, I know we’ve not even reached the end of November yet.
But the BBC release their Christmas and New Year programme information today.
So I thought you’d like to see a selection of new 2008 festive images.
Almost all the programmes have been trailed before.
And over the last few months I’ve been interviewing some of those who star in them.
As you can see, it’s slipper time for the much anticipated return of The Royle Family.
Jim (Ricky Tomlinson) has the After Eights poised by his armchair, while Barbara (Sue Johnston) has a hole in her leggings.

So we know all is well with the world.
Other highlights include David Morrissey as a second Doctor in Doctor Who.

Plus a guest role for Dervla Kirwan as Miss Hartigan.
Her husband Rupert Penry-Jones plays Richard Hannay in a new adaptation of The 39 Steps.
Alan Davies teams up with Sheridan Smith for the return of Jonathan Creek.
While there are Christmas specials for Gavin and Stacey and Holby City, featuring Strictly Come Dancing’s Tom Chambers with Phoebe Thomas.
There is, of course, a Strictly festive special, plus the return of Rab C Nesbitt and Shooting Stars.
Prince Charles is a special guest on The Antiques Roadshow.
And Rowan Atkinson and the rest of the Blackadder cast are back for a one-off documentary special marking 25 years of the classic comedy.
Blackadder Rides Again will include the first ever in-depth interview with Edmund Blackadder himself.
As well as contributions from Stephen Fry, Tony Robinson, Ben Elton, Hugh Laurie, Richard Curtis, Miranda Richardson and Tim McInnerny.
