“It was a very emotional job for everyone working on this drama.
“Not a moment went by when we weren’t talking or thinking about Banaz. I still find it emotional today. The image of Banaz will always move me.
“I hope our drama serves the memory of Banaz.”
Keeley Hawes talking to me about her role as DCI Caroline Goode in new two-part ITV factual drama Honour.
The real life detective who brought five killers to justice in the truly heartbreaking story of Banaz Mahmod. A young woman living in London who was murdered for falling in love.
When she took on the case, Caroline discovered Banaz had been to the police five times to report threats to her life from members of her own family.
Honour begins on ITV at 9pm on Monday Sept 28 and concludes at the same time the following night.
