LAST Choir Standing judge Suzi Digby summed it up.
“I wish the people at home could have been sitting where I’m sitting, because I can feel the electricity. It’s unbelievable.”
As luck would have it, I was sat just a few feet behind Suzi in Studio 1 at BBC Television Centre in London on Saturday night.
Watching the show on TV at home gives you some idea of just how special ACM Gospel Choir are.
But hearing them in the studio is something else entirely.

While third judge Sharon D Clarke was – again – in tears.
The students from The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and musical director Mark De Lisser were almost in a different class on Saturday.

Only Men Aloud! also impressed with their version of Goldfinger.
Ysgol Glanaethwy proved their versatility.

While Revelation saved themselves in the sing-off with a great version of Love The One You’re With.
Bath Male Choir were also at their best in that final head-to-head with The Beatles’ classic Something.
But they were always likely to go out once they found themselves in the bottom two.
I’m a fan of Last Choir Standing – a show which demonstrates what can be achieved by people working together, rather than against each other.
After a night in the studio audience, I came away even more impressed.
The main 6.15pm show was broadcast live with near flawless links by Myleene Klass and Nick Knowles.
We had already watched Katherine Jenkins record her guest spot – twice – for insertion in the 9.50pm results show.
There was a camera rehearsal of that second show shortly after the end of the main live programme at 7.30pm.
Myleene apologised for ditching her high heels in favour of flip-flops for the rehearsal.
“You ladies will understand,” she smiled.

With phone voting lines closing at 8.30pm, the results show was recorded “as live” – starting around 8.45pm.
So by the time it went out on BBC1 from 9.50pm, I was back home in front of my telly.
As ever, the Last Choir Standing studio set up is much smaller than it appears on TV.
Make-up artists swarmed around the three judges every time the live show cut to pre-recorded film clips featuring interviews with choir members.
While Nick insisted on chatting away to anyone within earshot just seconds before he was back live on air.
The men of Bath applauded Revelation when the London gospel choir were saved by the judges.
Just part of the community spirit of this show.
As I left, Bath’s musical director Grenville Jones was getting ready to board a coach home, still smiling despite going out.
Four choirs remain to contest next Saturday night’s semi final.
At the time of writing, Only Men Aloud! are 7-4 favorites to win the title of Last Choir Standing.
A fraction behind are ACM Gospel at 15-8, then Ysgol Glanaethwy at 5-2 and finally outsiders Revelation at 8-1.
