That Antony Cotton

CORONATION Street fans worried that Antony Cotton may be lured away from the cobbles can rest easy.
The Bury actor, who plays Sean Tully, is preparing to host his new ITV1 teatime series – That Antony Cotton Show.
But even if the five-week Manchester-based run is a success and leads to other things, Antony won’t be quitting Weatherfield – at least not in the forseeable future.

During a chat yesterday, he told me: “I can exclusively reveal to you Ian that I’ve signed another year with Coronation Street.
“So I’m going nowhere.”
Antony says of his chat show: “It’s going to be gossipy, light-hearted, chatty and irreverent, but most of all fun with lots of tea and cake.”
The 2007 Soapstar Superstar winner will make an initial 25 shows for broadcast in the 5pm slot, as part of ITV’s response to Richard and Judy and Paul O’Grady over on Channel 4.
ITV are now looking for audiences for Antony’s hour-long shows, which will be filmed in August and September at ITV Granada’s Quay Street studios.
