Return Of The Hood

THE scripts were clunky and the end result not as good as it should have been.
But Robin Hood is to get another chance with confirmation today of an expected second series.
Speaking in Manchester, BBC1 Controller Peter Fincham said Lancashire-raised Jonas Armstrong will return as Robin in 2007.
Filming is due to start in Budapest next spring with the series back on our screens later in the year.

To be fair, the Saturday night show has improved as it’s gone on, with six episodes of this first series still to be screened.
Also returning for the second series will be Lucy Griffiths (Marian), Keith Allen (The Sheriff of Nottingham) and Richard Armitage (Guy of Gisborne), along with Sam Troughton (Much), Gordon Kennedy (Little John) and the rest of the surviving outlaws.
Not that the BBC are admitting to any problems with this first series, which has had an average audience of 6.6m for the first seven episodes, with a further 500,000 watching the BBC3 repeat.
“Robin Hood has been a big hit with family audiences, playing in a tough slot on the most competitive night of the week,” said Mr Fincham.
The new 13-part series will again be written by Dominic Minghella.
Mr Fincham also confirmed that the next series of The Apprentice will move from BBC2 to BBC1.
