“I’M so pleased we were able to tell the story and take it through to its natural end just before most of them left Corfu.
“It feels like the right thing to have done.
“Not only selfishly for us but also because it’s such a brilliant story for the viewers. It’s a very satisfying end.”
Keeley Hawes talking to me about the fourth and final series of The Durrells which begins on ITV at 8pm this Sunday (April 7).
While sad to see the end of this epic Greek journey, Keeley – who plays Louisa Durrell – and I agreed this finale is the best series yet.
You can read my interview with her via the link to the ITV Production Notes below:
So much has happened to The Durrells since I interviewed Keeley on location in Corfu ahead of the first series.
Not least to the height and voice of Milo Parker, who plays Gerry.
These final six episodes are a real joy. And as Keeley says, don’t despair.
You can always watch The Durrells all over again from the very start.
