Robson Green as Rob Scotcher

ROBSON Green went to school just up the road from me. He was at Seaton Burn High just after I left my Sixth Form to embark on a career in journalism.

I met up again with Robson recently and asked him if he had ever gone back to his old school.

“No. I think there’s always something wrong about that. It’s just weird,” he replied.

“When I was there, you’d get guys and girls who had left and they’d hang around the gates, for some unknown reason.

“I couldn’t think of a worse thing to do, other than being invited and talk to the kids. But not to hang around. Definitely not.”

Russell Tovey, Sinead Keenan, Aidan Turner and Lenora Crichlow

THE rather wonderful Being Human returns for a third BBC3 series tonight.

With a brilliant opening episode featuring Mitchell’s quest to rescue Annie from purgatory.

Plus a move to Wales, the arrival of Robson Green and Michael Sorcha, an impressive guest appearance by Lacey Turner and just the odd twist in the tale.

Also screened on the BBC HD channel.

I met up with Russell Tovey, Sinead Keenan and Michael last October to discuss the new series.

Nicola Walker as Ruth

THE interview notes are buried somewhere in my archives.

I first met up with Nicola Walker back in the late 1990s when she starred in The Last Train and Touching Evil.

She is, of course, now best known as Ruth Evershed in Spooks.

While still finding time for stage roles, including another at the National Theatre in London this Christmas.

I spoke to Nicola again recently for the new series of Spooks.

Aidan Turner as Mitchell

THE vampire, the werewolf and the ghost were watched by 1.4m viewers when they returned for a second BBC3 series last Sunday.

Aidan Turner (vampire Mitchell), Russell Tovey (werewolf George) and Lenora Crichlow (ghost Annie) are back for more this weekend.

Mitchell encounters an old friend, George and Nina (Sinead Keenan) are still trying to make their relationship work and Annie asks Saul out on a date.

Saul being played by former Spooks star Alex Lanipekun, whose MI5 character Ben Kaplan met a particularly bloody end.
